JANUARY 9TH RESULTS

We had great weather for the second race of the year. At the01/09/2005 race in the poles Allie Snatchko hit a pole and broke her knee. Allie will be side lined for six weeks. Our youth members are still showing they are to be reckoned with. Tiana Yocam took the open 2D and 2nd in the youth 2D to be the high money winner of the day. Tiana won $137.40. Another youth member McKenna Abercrombie was the third high money winner of the day with $111.65. McKenna won 3rd in the Open 1D and 1st in the youth 1D. Nicole Yonkers was the second high money winner with her open 1D win of $128.80. Patty McCullar placed on both her horses, 4th in the open 1D and 2nd in the open 3D. Youth members Autumn and Aimee Winters both placed in the open and youth. Amy Jo Knutter placed 5th in the Open 1D and 2nd in the youth 1D and won the poles. Christine Leahy was 4th in the open 2D and 1st in the youth 2D. Kelsey Brendt was 5th in the open 2D and 3rd in the youth 1D. Meaghan Clifton repeated her youth 4D win. Janet Cropper and Michelle Lazor and Peggy Yopp repeated their divisions wins. I apologize for the news being a little light but I've developed a blood clot and I'm not quite up to getting carried away with the news. This is going to be a big year for awards as we have all the saddles and stirrups spoken for and 1/2 the buckles. Dr Chad Abercrombie is again donating blankets for all the winners.

RESULTS

Our first race of the year got off to a great start all because of the great help. We are very thankful for the wonderful help we have. I was not able to make it down as I was not quite up to it yet. The surgery hit me harder than we expected. But everyone pitched in and did a great job. Thanks to you all. The seniors entries were down but the youth had 24 entries and in the open we had 50 to start off the year. The weather started out not to bad but it turned bitter cold before the race was over. Janet Cropper won the senior 1D and placed second in the Open 1D. Good way to start the new year. Janet was second high money winner of the day. Raina Chandler and Toby took the Open 1D winning $142.00 making her 3rd high money inner of the day. Amy Jo Knutter got off to a great start. Amy won the Poles and was the only qualifier in the youth 1D giving her a check for $131.25. Adding her pole winnings with it she was the high money winner of the day $179.25. Tiana Yocam was the only youth member to get points in the 1D. While her Dad Mark Yocam who just joined topped the 4D. Keeping it all in the family the 2D was won by Kelsey Brendt with mom Diana coming in 2nd by 84/1000. They were followed by youth members Katie Faughnan for 3rd and Little Annie Moyer for 4th. Annie also placed 2nd in the youth 3D. The open 3D was won by last years 2D champion Shay-lee Hadley on a rope horse turned barrel horse. This horse is for sale and if someone is looking for a combination rope and barrel horse contact Shay-Lee. Amanda Yopp took 2nd place in the 3D followed by Barbara Campbell, Kim Myers and Kaylee Moyer. Sally Ann Fosha decided to try out the open this year and placed 2nd in the 4D and was 2nd in the sr. 3D. Youth member Aimee Winters placed 3rd and Nancy Jessop 4th. Another one of the Brendt's, father Kelly, joined this year, making two men running. Kelly was 5th in the open 4D. Were glad to see the guys give the gals some competition. Michelle Lazor and her beautiful buckskin won the sr. 3D. Michelle was last years sr. 2D champion. Peggy Yopp, last years 4D sr. champion, on another buckskin (my favorite mustang) won the sr. 4D. Rashael Dixon rejoined this year after being absent last year and topped the youth 3D. With Meaghan Clifton winning the youth 4D. Meaghan has been runner up the last two years for the 4D championship so maybe this will be her year.
